Proactiv
What Is Proactiv?
Proactiv is an all natural alternative to many prescription acne treatments that have caused problems in the past. Proactiv was created by two dermatologists who were sick of the same old same old. They wanted to create a new alternative for the average consumer that was more affordable along with being more effective and coming with fewer side effects. They talk about Proactiv being the ultimate possibility, the ultimate innovation in the acne fighting world. And apparently, Proactiv will help you to eliminate acne in just a short period of time with the experience of professionals. But the question in many minds is what makes Proactiv different, and is it actually that effective? Is it worth buying and investing in, in other words.
How Does Proactiv Work?
Proactiv uses one main active ingredient known as benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide is literally the most commonly used ingredient in the acne fighting industry. It has been used to fight acne from the start, killing off bacteria and at the same time killing off valuable skin cells. When it comes to Proactiv, you can actually find a product quite similar just about anywhere on the market, generally at a lower price. All you have to do is visit the grocery store. However, we would not necessarily recommend going to alternatives such as Acne Free for example. They are now found at the same price, and while they may seem to be the same basic formula, many have found that they are somehow not as effective as Proactiv, and some have been known to come with complications not commonly seen with Proactiv.
Does Proactiv Cause Problems Or Side Effects?
Proactiv can without question cause side effects. It has been known to cause redness, irritation, peeling, dermatitis, sensitivity to the sun, and even crusting and other problems with the skin. Proactiv has also been known to cause a certain degree of dependency. Should you ever stop using it, you may end up with a worse breakout than before.
Final Conclusion On Proactiv
Proactiv can definitely help you to fight acne. Of course, anything with the proper amounts of benzoyl peroxide can help you to do that. But just about every product we’ve seen uses it. Just about every cheap product we’ve seen, most with a lower price tag than Proactiv, use benzoyl peroxide as their one and only active ingredient. There are other products that try to imitate Proactiv, and often we find that they often have more side effects and fewer benefits than Proactiv. You would think it would be the same. But either way, Proactiv is not actually that unusual, and it’s not worth the hype surrounding it.
